The Makers' Guide

Pottery Studio
What if I’m visiting from out of town — can you ship my art to me once it’s fired?
Yes! We ship to anywhere in the US for a small fee (fees start at $10/pc, but can go up based on the size of your piece)
Do you allow BYOB or outside food for parties?
Always!
Do you keep finished pieces if I forget to pick them up?
After three months we donated all pottery left behind to the long term residents of the pediatric wing of White Plains Hospital.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes!

Pottery Painting
Can I make something and take it home the same day?
You can take a completed mosaic home immediately after you are done creating it. Candles can be taken home after about 3 or 4 hours. Pottery needs to go through a 4 day glazing process, which usually takes us about a week to complete.
Are the glazes you use food-safe and non-toxic?
Most are. The ones that aren’t are clearly labeled.
Do you offer clay hand-building or wheel-throwing?
No.
Is pottery messy? What should I wear?
Pottery paint washes out of clothes easily, but we have smocks available if anyone wants to use them.
Candle Making
Can I take my candle home the same day, or does it need to cure?
Candles need 3 or 4 hours to cool before you can take them home.
Can I bring my own jar or vessel to pour a candle in?
Sure!
Are your candles made with soy, paraffin, or beeswax? What’s the difference?
Walk-in candle making uses paraffin wax, but we use soy wax for our events when the project allows it.
Are your fragrances safe, non-toxic, and phthalate-free?
Yes.
Do you offer unscented options?
Always (but we have REALLY awesome scents!).
Are candles safe for kids to make, or is it just for adults?
Kids can absolutely make candles! As for lighting candles, that’s a different story…

Mosaic Design
Do you provide designs to follow, or can I create my own?
If you ask one of our design experts they can give you ideas, or you can come up with your own.
Do I get to grout my own mosaic, or do you do that for me?
Yes, but if you need help, we are here!
Can I finish a mosaic in one session, or does it take multiple visits?
Almost always pieces are done in one sitting, but you can come back as many times as you want.
Do you provide safety tools like goggles and gloves?
Yes. We ask that customers use goggles when cutting any glass.
